This paper is important in the context of real or supposed AD co-morbidities where ophthalmologic comorbidities are generally not adequately considered except for dupilumab side effects.
Wilkie et al, JACI 2024 ➜ PMID: 38185418. – DOI: 10.1016/j.jaci.2023.12.020 Autosomal recessive hyper IGE syndrome with DOCK8 deficiency which is frequently associated with an AD phenotype was studied by the group of Geha (Boston) and, interestingly in the context of regulatory T cell dysfunction, shows a driving effect of S. aureus on AD lesions independently of a barrier defect.
